The Ford F-150 is a full-size pickup truck model produced and sold by the Ford Motor Company. An iconic model of the American truck market, the F-150 is sized and priced above the Ford Ranger light/midsize pickup truck and below the Ford Super Duty lineup, including the F-250, F-350, and F-450.

The Ford F-Series of pickup trucks was introduced in 1948 to replace the plainly named Ford pickup model. The first official appearance of the Ford F-150 nameplate came in 1975 during the truck lineup’s sixth generation, debuting as a compromise between the F-100 and the F-250. Since then, the Ford F-150 has soared in popularity, often competing with the Chevy Silverado and the Ram 1500 for the title of America’s best-selling truck model in addition to America’s best-selling vehicle.

Currently in the 14th generation of the F-Series, the Ford F-150 model is available with multiple powertrain options, including a hybrid version. Additionally, the highly-anticipated Ford F-150 Lighting, an all-electric model, is on the way.
